Hon. Mahalia Aisha Ahman Pategi has officially declared her intention to contest for the position of Kwara State Governor under the All Progressives Congress, promising an inclusive, people-driven administration anchored on education, economic empowerment, youth development, and sustainable growth.
Addressing supporters at her declaration, Hajia Pategi emphasized unity and collective ownership of the state, stating that “Kwara belongs to all,” not a privileged few. She highlighted the need to expand opportunities for farmers, traders, youths, and vulnerable groups across the state.
Speaking at event, Mahlalia Pategi aligned her vision with the Renewed Hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, she reaffirmed her commitment to national economic growth and inclusive prosperity. She also acknowledged the leadership of Governor Abdul Rahman Abdul Razaq, noting that his administration has laid a foundation for stability and governance in the state.
“Leadership is a continuum. Every generation must build further, do better, and go higher,” she said, stressing that her ambition is not to compete with the past but to build upon it.
Mahlalia Pategi announced “The Domino Effect”, a development strategy that links job creation to income generation, stability, security, and ultimately economic growth.
She outlined key policy priorities including economic empowerment, women inclusion, youth innovation, agricultural transformation, and improved infrastructure. She pledged targeted support for small businesses, farmers, and digital entrepreneurs, while also prioritizing electricity and connectivity to drive industrial development.
Furthermore, she stressed on gender inclusion, declaring that women are critical drivers of development, and vowed to create more opportunities for them in governance and economic participation.
On youth development, the Governorship aspirant said her administration would invest in skills acquisition, technology, and innovation, positioning young people as catalysts for growth rather than liabilities.
Describing her candidacy as a movement rather than a campaign, the aspirant called on stakeholders, traditional leaders, and citizens to join her in building a more inclusive Kwara.
“With humility and faith in Allah, I declare my intention to run for Governor—not for power, but for purpose; not for position, but for people,” she said.
Mahlalia Patigi however urged Kwarans to support her vision of a state where opportunity is a right, leadership is accessible, and governance delivers tangible results.
