Ekan Land to Honour Governor AbdulRazaq’s Aide, Akeweje with Chieftaincy Title



The Ekan Development Association in Oke-Ero Local Government Area of Kwara State has announced plans to confer an honorary chieftaincy title on Akeweje Olayinka Fafoluyi, Senior Special Assistant on New Media to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.


According to a letter issued by the association, the decision was approved by His Royal Highness, Oba David Adekunle Olaniyan, Orifemiloye, Odundun Asodedero I, the Elekan of Ekan, alongside the Elekan-in-Council during a meeting held on February 6, 2026.


“We write to formally inform you that HRH, Oba David Adekunle Olaniyan, Orifemiloye, Odundun Asodedero I, Elekan of Ekan, and Elekan-in-Council, at its meeting held on 6th February 2026, resolved to confer an honorary chieftaincy title of Fiwajoye of Ekan Land on you,” the letter read in parts.


Akeweje is to be honoured with the title of Fiwajoye of Ekan Land in recognition of his contributions and service to the town. The formal investiture ceremony is scheduled to take place on April 4, 2026, at the United Anglican Primary School open field in Ekan town.


The association stated that the event will feature the presentation of a staff of office and a certificate, in line with the community’s traditional rites. Friends, family members, and well-wishers are expected to attend the ceremony.


The Ekan Development Association expressed its congratulations and extended best wishes to Akeweje Olayinka Fafoluyi ahead of the ceremony.
