A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State, Hon. Sulaimon Lekan Gadaff, has met with the state chairman of the party, Prince Sunday Fagbemi, following the recent protest that reportedly led to violence and destruction of property.
Gadaff, who paid a courtesy visit to the APC chairman on Monday, said the meeting was aimed at expressing his concern over the incident and reaffirming his loyalty to the leadership of the party and the administration of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
Speaking during the visit, the APC stakeholder from Asa Local Government Area strongly condemned the violence that occurred during the protest, stressing that such actions do not reflect the discipline and values the ruling party represents.
He noted that the APC remains the largest political party in Nigeria and urged members to protect the unity and stability that have sustained the party’s strength over the years.
According to him, internal disagreements among party members should not escalate into actions capable of weakening the party’s image and collective strength.
“Nobody wins when the family feuds; we all lose,” Gadaff stated, emphasizing the need for unity and peaceful engagement among party members.
The APC chieftain also called for inclusiveness within the party structure, urging that opportunities and recognition should be fairly extended across different groups within the party rather than being concentrated within a particular bloc.
He maintained that such an approach would further strengthen the party and consolidate its support base, especially among youths at the grassroots level.
Responding, Prince Fagbemi appreciated the visit and reiterated his commitment as the chairman of the party in Kwara State to ensure discipline, peace, and unity among members.
The APC chairman assured that necessary measures would be taken to prevent a recurrence of such incidents while investigations into the protest continue.
He also offered prayers for the continued success of Governor AbdulRazaq and the unity and progress of APC members across the state.
Gadaff reaffirmed his commitment to the progress of the party, the success of the state government, and the continued unity of the APC in Kwara State.
