Tinubu reappoint NSCDC CG, Ahmed Audi

President Bola Tinubu has reappointed Dr Ahmed Audi as the Commandant-General of the Nigeria Security & Civil Defence Corps for a new five-year term.

“The reappointment took effect from February 27,” a statement signed by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, said on Saturday.

Audi was first appointed to the post in 2021 by former President Muhammadu Buhari, and his initial five-year term concluded last Friday, coinciding with activities marking the 2026 World Civil Defence Day at the NSCDC National Headquarters in Abuja.

“He will resume his duties on Monday with a renewed mandate,” Onanuga added.

President Tinubu charged Audi to reposition the service to play a more significant role in national security, particularly as the police focus on their core responsibility of protecting citizens from bandits, kidnappers, and terrorists.
