Ahead of 2027 general elections, the youths of Moro local government and students has declared total support for re-election bid of president Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the former special adviser to Governor on party affairs, Hon. Mashood Alaka for Federal house of Representative for Edu/Moro/Patigi constituency.
The press briefing which took place today 24th of April 2026 at Malete secondary school.
Hon. Mashood Alaka ably represented by the local government youths secretary, Jegede AbdulAzeez Adebayo said we are gathered here today as concerned youths and students of Moro Local Government with a clear purpose and a united voice. This press conference is not just an event but it is a statement of our conviction, our vision, and our commitment to the future of our community, our state, and our nation.
"First and foremost, we wish to openly declare our unwavering support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. We believe in his leadership, his reform-driven agenda, and his commitment to repositioning Nigeria for sustainable growth and development".
"While challenges may exist, we recognize the courage it takes to make bold decisions that will ultimately secure a better future for all Nigerians".
"Secondly, we strongly advocate for equity, fairness, and inclusiveness in Kwara State politics. It is on this note that we call for the shift of power to Kwara North in 2027. For too long, this region has played a supportive role in the political structure of the state. We believe that justice and balanced representation demand that Kwara North be given the opportunity to lead. This is not just a political demand,it is a call for fairness and unity", he added.
Furthermore, this equity is necessary to go round the clock as we are advocating for power shift for Kwara North, we equally want this to happen in our dear Local Government, Moro in order to ensure fairness in distribution of power.
"In view of this, we call on our esteemed stakeholders at the All Progressive Congress (APC) to ensure that, the house of representative goes to Moro to end the longtime marginalization while our candidate remain nobody than Hon Moshood Alaka who have grassroots acceptance, track-record and networking to make our federal constituency better".
This solidarity support is not for personal gain but a clarion call for the development with betterment of Edu/Moro/Patigi federal constituency, he said.
The chairman for Moro local government youths, Mallam Sanni Yusuf Olatunji while speaking at the conference said that "we stand to reaffirm and defend the integrity of Hon. Mashood Alaka, the former special adviser to Governor in party affairs and the leading aspirant for Edu/Moro/Patigi Federal Constituency.
" In recent times there have being attempts to discredit his personality through propaganda and misinformation", he said.
The chairman however said that we wish to state it clearly to the public that Hon. Mashood Alaka remain a man of proven character, dedicated and service to the people.
