Former Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on KW-GIS, Abdulmutalib Akintade Shittu, has expressed deep appreciation to the Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, for the opportunity to serve in various strategic capacities within the state government.
In a reflective statement marking a significant phase of his public service journey, Shittu described his appointments as both humbling and transformative. He acknowledged the confidence reposed in him by the Governor, noting that the trust placed in him at a relatively young age remains one of the most defining moments of his career.
Shittu served in multiple roles, including Special Assistant on Geographic Information Systems, Pioneer Executive Chairman of KW-GIS, and later as Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on KWGIS. He emphasized that each role came with immense responsibility, particularly in an institution central to land administration, survey, physical planning, and governance reforms in the state.
According to him, his time in office provided invaluable insights into governance and institutional development, while reinforcing his belief that public office should be driven by impact rather than personal gain.
“I remain sincerely grateful to His Excellency for the trust, guidance, and opportunity to contribute to the ongoing efforts at building a more efficient and responsive Kwara State,” he stated.
He also extended appreciation to the staff of KW-GIS, partners, stakeholders, and the people of Kwara State for their support and collaboration, which he said played a crucial role in the successes recorded during his tenure.
Reflecting on the future, Shittu noted that his experiences have strengthened his resolve to continue contributing to the development of the state. He stressed the importance of evolving public service to meet the growing needs of the people through inclusive representation and broader engagement.
He further hinted at a renewed commitment to serve at a higher level, with a focus on amplifying the voices of communities and advancing their collective interests.
“Public service, for me, has never been about position, but about purpose. The purpose endures, and my commitment to serve remains unwavering,” he added.
Shittu concluded by thanking the Governor and the people of Kwara State for the opportunity to learn, serve, and grow in the course of his public service journey.
