Kwara Entertainers Endorse Engr. Femi Sanni’s 2027 Governorship Bid

The gubernatorial ambition of Engr. Femi Sanni (Araba) received a significant boost on Thursday as stakeholders in Kwara State’s creative industry, under the aegis of Kwara Entertainers, formally endorsed his aspiration for the 2027 governorship race.

The endorsement event, held at the O2 Arena Event Center along Ajase-Ipo Road, Ilorin, and covered by The Crown Online, was a vibrant fusion of political mobilization and cultural display. It attracted a large turnout of veteran and contemporary entertainers, party loyalists, and enthusiastic supporters.

In their goodwill messages, stakeholders commended Engr. Sanni for his longstanding philanthropic efforts and contributions to community development. They expressed confidence that his track record would play a crucial role in his pursuit of the state’s top office, describing his candidacy as both credible and achievable.

A major highlight of the event was the testimonial delivered by legendary Nigerian comic actor and filmmaker, Kayode Olasehinde Ajirebi (Pa Ajirebi). Speaking with conviction, the veteran actor expressed strong optimism about the Araba 2027 project.

“I have never supported a loser in my life. I am proud to have contributed to the success of the current Governor of Kwara State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq,” he stated.

“The Araba 2027 project is another success story in the making,” he added, while commending Engr. Sanni for his consistent support for the entertainment industry.

Renowned broadcaster, Abdulfatai Adeniyi Dankazeem, in his remarks, described Engr. Sanni as the best candidate for Kwarans. He highlighted the aspirant’s contributions to industrial growth and youth empowerment, noting his pioneering role in establishing a phone repair enterprise that has created employment opportunities for thousands across Africa.

Similarly, ace dramatist Isiaq Olubisi Awopegba emphasized the importance of electing a leader who understands and values the creative economy, identifying Engr. Sanni as that leader.

Adding his voice, Sulaiman Akinkanju offered prayers and solidarity on behalf of traditional performers, urging entertainers across the state to unite in support of the Araba 2027 vision.

Earlier in his opening remarks, the convener of the event, Funsho Aliyu, explained that the endorsement was driven by Engr. Sanni’s professional integrity, proven leadership, and vision for a modern and industrialized Kwara State. He also encouraged participants to mobilize support across their respective constituencies.

The venue was filled to capacity, with supporters extending into surrounding areas. The event featured rich cultural performances, showcasing Kwara’s heritage and underscoring the creative community’s commitment to the Araba movement.

Engr. Femi Sanni, a Fellow of the Nigerian Institution of Civil Engineers (FNICE) and the Nigerian Society of Engineers (FNSE), is being positioned by his supporters as a technocrat with a people-centered approach, capable of consolidating and expanding on the infrastructural achievements of the current administration.

The Crown Online reports that the entertainers’ endorsement is a strategic move aimed at leveraging the influence of the creative sector, as the race to succeed Governor AbdulRazaq gradually gains momentum.
