Senator Sadiq Welcomes Rescue of Woro Abduction Victims



The Senator representing Kwara North Senatorial District, Senator Sadiq Suleiman Umar, has welcomed the rescue of victims abducted during the attack on Woro community in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State, describing the development as a great relief to him, Kwara North and indeed the whole state.


Senator Sadiq recalled the pain and anxiety that followed the attack on the community, where over one hundred innocent residents were abducted, noting that he had remained deeply concerned about the victims and their families while supporting efforts toward their safe rescue.


He commended the Federal Government, the Kwara State Government, the Armed Forces, other security agencies, local vigilantes, and all those involved in the successful operation, describing the rescue as a testament to the effectiveness of coordinated security efforts.


While celebrating the safe return of the rescued victims, the Senator urged security agencies to sustain the momentum until every person still in captivity regains freedom. He specifically appealed for intensified efforts to secure the release of the family members of the Emir of Yashikira, the Lata Nna, and other victims still being held across parts of Kwara State.


Senator Sadiq also mourned those who lost their lives during the attack, praying that Almighty Allah grants them Al-Jannah Firdaus and comforts their families with the strength to bear the painful loss.


He reaffirmed his commitment to supporting every effort aimed at restoring lasting peace and improving security across Kwara North and Kwara State.
