AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, Governor of Kwara State and Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), on Sunday addressed the press following the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Area Council elections held across the six area councils of Abuja on Saturday.
Speaking at the APC Situation Room in Abuja, Governor AbdulRazaq, who expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the elections, appreciated the electorate for voting for candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The Governor also thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, for their support. He added that the victory reflected the party’s exemplary leadership and growing acceptance among the people.
The APC secured victory in five of the six chairmanship seats contested in the FCT Area Council elections, while the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) won the remaining seat.
Governor AbdulRazaq served as Chairman of the APC National Campaign Council for the 2026 FCT Area Council Elections. He was supported on the council’s leadership team by Governor Hope Uzodimma, Governor Mai Mala Buni, and Governor Mohammed Umar Bago amongst other notable stakeholders.
