A former Ilorin West Local Government Chairmanship aspirant, Hon. (Engr.) Sikirullahi Abdulkareem Oladimeji, popularly known as Rotella, has formally declared his intention to contest for the Kwara State House of Assembly seat representing Ilorin North/West (Ajikobi/Alanamu Constituency) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Sikirullahi, who is seeking the ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC), made his declaration in a statement where he expressed humility, gratitude, and a strong commitment to public service and grassroots development.
He noted that his decision to join the race was driven by his long-standing involvement in community leadership, party activities, and his desire to contribute meaningfully to the growth of his constituency and Kwara State at large.
The aspirant also commended the leadership of the Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, praising his administration for promoting transparency, youth inclusion, and infrastructural development across the state.
Highlighting his qualifications, Sikirullahi pointed to his academic background in Civil Engineering from Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, as well as his professional experience as a Site Engineer and later as Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of ASHKARM Global Services. He emphasized that these experiences have equipped him with the technical and leadership skills necessary for effective legislative representation.
Reflecting on his political journey, he recalled serving as Councilor representing Oloje Ward in Ilorin West Local Government and later as Minority Leader of the Council between 2017 and 2020. According to him, the roles provided valuable insights into grassroots governance and the challenges facing local communities.
He further outlined his contributions to the APC, including serving as Head of Department, Youth Mobilization Committee in Kwara Central Senatorial District, and participating in the party’s Strategic Communication Committee during the 2023 general elections, as well as the Media and Publication Committee during the presidential campaign rally in Kwara State.
Sikirullahi expressed appreciation to party leaders, stakeholders, and grassroots members for their continued support and sacrifices, noting that their contributions have strengthened the APC across the state.
Speaking on his vision, the aspirant pledged to focus on people-oriented legislation if elected. He promised to champion youth empowerment, education, skills development, improved infrastructure, and economic opportunities for constituents.
He also assured that he would maintain close communication with the people and uphold the progressive ideals of the APC while representing their interests in the state assembly.
Sikirullahi concluded by seeking the prayers, support, and cooperation of party members and constituents as he embarks on his political journey toward the 2027 elections.
