Distinguished Senator Sadiq Suleiman Umar (3SU), representing Kwara North Senatorial District, has strongly condemned the recent attack on the palace of His Royal Highness, Alhaji Umar Usman Sarki, Emir of Yashikira in Baruten Local Government Area of Kwara State, describing the incident as unfortunate, disturbing, and unacceptable.
The attack, which reportedly led to the abduction of some individuals within the palace vicinity, has thrown the community into anxiety and concern.
Senator Sadiq expressed deep sympathy to the Emir of Yashikira, the people of the emirate, and families of the victims affected by the ugly incident. He prayed for the safe and immediate release of those abducted and called on residents to remain calm and cooperative with security agencies.
The lawmaker commended the swift response of the State Government under the leadership of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, CON and the security operatives over the rescue operations and restoration of normalcy in the area. He expressed confidence in the efforts of the security agencies and urged them to intensify actions towards ensuring the perpetrators are apprehended and brought to justice.
Senator Sadiq reaffirmed his commitment to the safety and security of lives and property across Kwara North, while calling for collective vigilance and community support in tackling insecurity.
He further assured the people of Yashikira and the entire Baruten axis that relevant authorities are actively monitoring the situation and taking necessary steps to prevent future occurrences.
