Police IG Disu Deploys New Commissioners to Eight States, Strategic Formations

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Olatunji Disu, has approved the deployment of Commissioners of Police (CPs) to eight state commands and several key formations across the Nigeria Police Force as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen operational effectiveness and improve service delivery nationwide.

The deployment, announced in a statement on Thursday by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Ani Iniedu, followed the approval of the Police Service Commission (PSC).

According to the statement, the newly appointed Commissioners of Police for state commands are:

• CP Afolabi Wilfred Olutokunbo – Abia State

• CP Ayodeji Faniyan – Plateau State

• CP Saka Adewale Ajao – Bayelsa State

• CP Ajo Geoffrey Ordue – Cross River State

• CP Nanna Oji Ama – Anambra State

• CP Patrick Daaor – Edo State

• CP Tani Murtala – Jigawa State

• CP Samuel Erale – Delta State

The IGP also approved the posting of senior officers to strategic formations, including the Force Intelligence Department (FID), Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID), Department of Finance and Administration (DFA), Department of Training and Development (DTD), Police Academy, and the Police Staff College.

Among the notable deployments are:

• CP Charles Ezekwesiri Dike – CP INTERPOL, Force Criminal Investigation Department, Abuja.

• CP Aina Adesola – CP Department of Finance and Administration/Department of Training and Development, Force Headquarters, Abuja.

• CP Uduak Ita Otu – CP Anti-Human Trafficking, FCID Annex, Alagbon, Lagos.

• CP Abdullateef Ajape Yusuf – CP General Investigation, FCID, Abuja.

• CP Taiwo A. Adedeji – CP Counter Terrorism Unit, Force Headquarters, Abuja.

• CP Ajayi Oluyemi – CP Anti-Human Trafficking, FCID, Abuja.

• CP Bolanle Aremu – CP Department of Finance and Administration, Force Headquarters, Abuja.

• CP Ibrahim Lukunche Usman – CP Inspectorate, Department of Training and Development, Force Headquarters.

• CP Mohammed Hassan Ahmed – Deputy Commandant, Police Staff College, Jos.

• CP Rita Oyintare Oki – Department of Finance and Administration, Force Headquarters Annex, Lagos.

• CP Ibrahim Umar D. Zungura – CP Administration, FCID Annex, Kaduna.

• CP Nelson Nwamana – Police Academy, Kano.

• CP Danbaba Mohammed Labbo – Force Criminal Investigation Department Annex, Gombe.

The Inspector-General charged the newly deployed Commissioners of Police to deploy their experience in strengthening intelligence-led policing, improving operational efficiency, promoting professionalism, and enhancing community engagement.

He also urged them to remain committed to protecting lives and property while maintaining the highest standards of discipline, accountability, and quality service delivery.

The Nigeria Police Force said the redeployment forms part of its ongoing reform agenda aimed at strengthening internal capacity, enhancing operational efficiency, and improving policing services across the country.
